| Dave visited Transport UK's Beddington garage on 13th October 2025 and was surprised to find some brand new electric cars present. Transport UK had so far followed the policy of its predecessors Abellio London and Travel London in using only second-hand cars as crew ferries. The new cars were Dacia Spring electrics in silver, and they had fleetnumbers starting a new sequence from 6001. As I mentioned recently, a change of numbering series was on the cards anyway. Starting at 6700 in about 2009, the numerous second-hand cars added had taken the series up to at least 6896, but the block from 6900 had already been used for engineer's vans. |
