| In an unexpected development, the contract to run the North Kent Fastrack bus routes (centred on Dartford) were won by Go-Ahead London in late 2024, replacing Arriva Kent Thameside who had provided the services since they started in 2006. A base was obtained on an industrial estate outside Dartford, and a motley fleet of diesel buses was assembled for use ahead of the delivery of new Irizar ie-tram electric buses. A year later and the new electrics are still not all in use. In terms of service vehicles, a Ford Transit Custom van (EK68BXY) was seen in photos on-line, and it was added to the database. However, when Ray visited the base on 15th October 2025, he found only two other vehicles, both of which came from the main Go-Ahead London fleet. Shown here is Ford Fiesta van EU16KWR, previously at Plough Lane, Croydon and Merton. The other van was Ford Transit Connect EK64CFY, which had started life at Bexleyheath. |
