In October 2005 I found myself with some redundant webspace with a rather nice URL of www.ltsv.com. Having recently become interested in Trainz content creation (for the second time) I figured this could be the subject of a new website.
The aims of the site were simple:
1. To provide an illustrated catalogue of all 'modern image' UK wagon models available for Trainz (see Wagons).
2. To show the status and 'work in progress' of my various content projects (see Projects).
As work slowly progressed I added two more objectives. The first was to create an index of Trainz Custom Content creation tutorials, and perhaps write one or two myself.
The second was to provide some protoype information as background to my various wagon models. The latter eventually grew into sister site LTSV Wagons.

This website was created using just the Notepad text editor that comes with Windows. Earlier sites used WYSIWYG website creation software but this always seemed to result in rather messy code.
PHP was chosen as I had recently had some experience using it in conjunction with MySQL databases. For this site I was interested in experimenting with what could be achieved using PHP on its own. The main feature is the use of 'includes' to insert repeated code. By doing this, many pages can be altered by changing just one layout file.
The images and graphics were created using Paint Shop Pro and anyone familiar with the process of creating art files for Trainz will recognise how most of these were produced.
All my Trainz models are built using the manual method associated with TRS2004 and older versions of the software. This will be reflected in any tutorials or notes about creation methods. Models are also tested in at least TRS2006.
