General News Content releases, etc. |

19th July 2010 I forgot to mention last time yet another wagon that is under construction by Greeni. This will be the FKA low-deck intermodal twin-set, a staple of many long-distance railfreight services at present. Tramp has also been busy, and has been showing work-in-progress shots of a YDA skip-carrying wagon and (curiously, given that one is already available) an FCA container wagon. This will be made available with the distinctive containers used for lime traffic. |

15th July 2010 Last week I did a check of the DLS for new content, and found no fewer than 75 new wagons since my last update in mid-March. To be fair, 44 of these were simply updated releases of earlier items, while another 27 were reskins or new liveries. Of the 4 completely new models, two were further variants on the OTA timber carrier by Greeni/TMZ, the other pair being Grampus ballast wagons by francelinetony (KUID 330374:1065 and 1067). I will add all the items to the catalogue once I have installed them and taken screenshots.
Yet another model by Greeni is a very nice looking OBA, expected to be released imminently. The model will include a number of custom-made loads. Also in the pipe-line are a variety of modern wagons being built by newbie Class1987. You can follow his progress on his blog.
Fairly significant news concerning the DLS is that only content built to TRS2009 standards will be accepted from later this year. I haven't looked into this much yet but it will require changes for many content creators (such as including normal maps). An alternative will be for creators to host content on other websites, and I would be happy to offer this service to anyone building wagon models.
I have added a further new project to my worklist, this being for the MJA bogie box twin wagons operated by Freightliner. I have had very little free time recently but this model was requested and I figured it might be quite quick to produce! |

16th March 2010 The most significant releases of the year so far (in my opinion) are of a new HEA hopper wagon and derivatives by Greeni and tmz. Although this is the third model of the type for Trainz, it is a considerable improvement on the earlier ones. The first release is in brown with further liveries expected soon. The derivatives include the MEA and MFA open wagons (that should find use on any modern layout) and the RNA barrier wagon for nuclear traffic.
The DLS has been more regularly updated recently, and quite a few models have been re-released with modifications and tweaks. Some of these have been captured here (such as the YGH bogie hoppers), while others (such as John Whelan's OAA and VEA models) will be done soon.
Also released by Greeni/tmz but beyond the scope of this website are a set of very nice CCT/NPV parcels vans. A search of the DLS for user ID 283805 will show how busy this pair have been! |

3rd January 2010 Unless I have missed some on the DLS, there don't appear to have been many new releases recently, especially not in terms of modern UK wagons (the ones added to the catalogue today in fact date from earlier last year). However, a new HEA wagon from Greeni has been shown on the UKTrainz forum, and Class1987 is making progress with a Brett JHA and several other models.
As for me, I have managed about 2 hours of content creation time over the past few months. Nothing worth showing off! |

Site News Latest additions and changes to LTSV Trainz |
|
19th July 2010 As mentioned below, I have modified the catalogue (and project) pages to show more information about releases. A new icon has been added to show the inclusion of animated parts (other than wheels and loads). Typically these are doors, covers or levers. I have also added the Trainz version number, so that you can see if a given model is compatible with your game. This will become more pertinent once the DLS changes take place. And I have included a star-rating system. This gives my own personal appraisal of each model (basically how accurate it is) on a scale of 1 to 5. In the interests of modesty, I have not attempted to rate my own content! Finally there is an extended key at the bottom of each relevant page, to explain the various symbols and Trainz version numbers.
Given the large number of items already in the catalogue, I have not yet added the new attributes for every item. Nor have I managed to install and catalogue all the new models mentioned in last week's news. Use the feedback button if you have any comments. |

15th July 2010 Just the news page updated today, along with a new project page for the MJAs. Catalogue updates should follow in the next few days/weeks.
I am also planning to add Trainz version information (and perhaps a star-rating) to the items in the catalogue. |

16th March 2010 Some recent releases added to the catalogue include the HEA, MEA, MFA and RNA by the Greeni/TMZ team, as well as a further VDA van. Some other models have been updated and now have links to the revised files on the DLS.
Sadly there is nothing to report on my own projects. It is now just over 4 years since I started making content for the community and, after a promising start, things have really slowed down of late. I only achieved one upload in 2009 and I may not better that this year! However, I have been able to provide some small assistance to a couple of other creators, and of course I have been looking after a growing family and a growing collection of websites! |

3rd January 2010 Catching up on wagon releases from 2009, I have added 29 models to the catalogue. These comprise the brilliant reworked YGH Sealion bogie ballast hopper (in four colours schemes) from the Greeni/TMZ06003 team, Eldavo's TEA bogie tanker reskinned into EWS white by Class1987, and a host of JHA reskins also by Class1987. |
