Following disposal by London Transport in May 1981, AEC Militant Master Breakdown Tender 1456MR passed to The National Rescue Group in late 1983, and was repainted in this brown livery for use from their Brooklands depot. It lasted in this role until 1988 and has since been in preservation. In April 1993 it was being rallied in as-withdrawn condition, showing that the front ballast box had been removed and a spare wheel mounted on the bumper. This view is also interesting for showing the jib raised and fully extended.
