Summary: | Large format books, with excellent photos balanced with knowledgeable captions and text. Wagons of all types are covered, including some very rare ones. |
Review: | The four books in this series cover the periods 1968 to 1973, 1974 to 1979, 1980 to 1984 and 1985 to 1992 respectively. Each has around 170 black and white photographs spread across 96 large format pages. The captions are quite detailed and include livery notes while each two page spread also has an introductory text outlining the illustrated (and related) types. As the title suggests, the photos all show wagons being used (although not always loaded) and there are none of the normal works and/or open day views. The photos are all of a high quality and the subject matter ranges from the mundane to the unique. |
