The BYA behind the MXA has had some curious modifications. Both end plates have been extended in width and height (surely making it out of gauge), and some tubular frameworks fitted in between. I would guess that this was a trial for a new type of sliding or collapsing cover. The fact that BYAs are now being converted to cover-less BYA-Os suggests that these trials were not successful. |
