A new use for some of the ill-fated Bow Midland wagons was eventually found in 2021, when three were modified (in France) for use by GB Railfreight as a new weed-killing train. The equipment is fitted as modules to the existing container-mounting points, but there are also some changes to the underframes and bogies. Wagons 95378/79/80 also now carry 'additional' EVNs of 99.70.9395.003-5, 99.70.9395.001-9 and 99.70.9395.002-7 respectively. Two more trains are on order and may use further wagons from this batch, though these are not due until April 2022 and April 2023. |
