Category: London Buses
Title: LT given power to design and build its own buses
Details: The Transport Act of 1969 had removed the right of London Transport to build its own buses, but this was reversed in 1975. LT had a project (dubbed the XRM) to build a new design, possibly with four axles, and they acquired a twin-steer Bedford VAL coach (RUW990E) for experiments. Nothing came of this, but LT had input into the design of the Leyland B15 (later Titan) double-decker.
