First production LS class Leyland National buses delivered to LT |
Details: |
Having trialled the Leyland National on route S2 from 1973, the type was deemed suitable for London use. However, no more were bought until 1976 when a batch of 51 from a cancelled order for Venezuela were taken. They entered service on various routes from Hounslow Garage and several hundred more of the type were bought from 1977 onwards. |
