This page lists all known batches of numbers applied to (or proposed for) rolling stock. A letter r after the numbers (as in 100-199r) indicates that not all numbers in the range were included.
Almost all BR-era stock has been listed (apart from pre-TOPS private owner wagons). Older batches will be added where relevant (for example, stock that lasted into the 1970s).
Some batches (notably those covering pre-Nationalisation stock, regional departmental stock and internal users) are rather vague and are included mainly because every number in the database has to belong to a batch. The details will be refined in due course.
