Note added Fri 03/12/2021 by Thomas Young Category: Overview These numbers were allocated to the Network Rail HOPS (High Output Plant System), a series of trains that were used during the electrification of the Great Western mainline. Ordered in December 2011 and assembled by Windhoff at Rheine, Germany in 2013-2014, the trains comprised a mixture of new-build MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) elements, and specialised wagons converted from existing KFA and JNA wagons. Additional CEPS (Civil Engineers Plant System) numbers in the series DR76901-DR76923 were applied during 2014. With rolling stock that carries two different numbers, the convention on this website is to refer to the domestic number as the primary number, and the 'European' number as the secondary. Related information should be linked to the primary number wherever practical. Source: Rail Express magazine |
