| Note added Tue 31/08/2021 by Thomas Young Category: Classification/Coding This design code was allocated to B601001 and B601002 from lot 3480, these being the 40ft long outer wagons from the prototype Freightliner set, built in 1963 to diagram 1/080. The production batches that followed from 1964 onwards were 60ft long, and the outer wagons were given design codes in the FG004x series (with FG001A and FG003A used for Lowliner wagons that were soon recoded to FZ005A and FH001A respectively). The allocation of FG002A to the prototypes may have been a paper exercise. The listing in the index of the diagram book was crossed out, and the prototypes were believed to have been withdrawn before TOPS was introduced. Source: BR diagrams books on BMRG website | ![]() |
